Galvanized Stock Tanks for Cold Plunging

We are a cold plunge equipment rental service in Vancouver, BC and specialize in collaboration & community events to bring the cold plunge experience to local communities.

Our cold tubs are galvanized stock tanks! Galvanized stock tanks are large, sturdy containers made from galvanized steel. These tanks were originally designed for agricultural and industrial use, primarily for holding water or feed for livestock, but they have gained popularity in various other applications as well (like cold plunging).

Why we chose Galvanized Stock Tanks:

  1. Material: Galvanized stock tanks are made from sheets of steel that have been coated with a layer of zinc through a process called galvanization. This zinc coating helps protect the steel from corrosion, making the tanks durable and suitable for outdoor use.

  2. Size/Depth Variety: These tanks come in various sizes and depths. The variety make them versatile for different purposes. We have three different sizes available that nest in each other, allowing for easy transportation.

  3. Drainage: Many galvanized stock tanks have a drain plug at the bottom, making it easy to empty and refill them.

  4. Durability: The zinc coating extends the lifespan of the steel by acting as a barrier between the steel and the surrounding environment, protecting the steel from rust and corrosion. Galvanized steel is also inherently strong and can withstand the weight of water, livestock, and other materials that might be placed inside the tanks.

  5. Temperature Retention: If you fill a galvanized stock tank with cold water, it will initially absorb some of the coldness. The temperature retention will be more noticeable if the water is significantly colder than the ambient temperature. The thickness of the steel and the water volume in the tank can have some insulating effect, slowing down temperature changes.
